EJAC Launching Event
February 27, 2026
On March 14th, we proudly celebrate the official launch of the Ethiopian Journalists Association of Canada (EJAC) — a professional body established to unite, empower, and represent Ethiopian journalists across Canada.
About EJAC
The Ethiopian Journalists Association of Canada was founded with a clear and urgent purpose:
To strengthen ethical journalism, defend press freedom, promote professional excellence, and create a supportive network for Ethiopian media professionals living and working in Canada.
At a time when journalism faces growing challenges both globally and within our communities, EJAC stands as a platform for solidarity, advocacy, mentorship, and collaboration. Our mission is to uphold the highest standards of journalism while fostering unity and mutual support among members.
What to Expect at the Launch
The March 14th launching event will bring together journalists, media practitioners, community leaders, and supporters for a meaningful and inspiring program featuring:

• Presentation of EJAC’s vision, mission, and strategic priorities
• Discussion on the role of diaspora journalism and media responsibility
